Transient Response: Two Taiwanese Artists’ Residency Experiences and Reflections
It is a common problem for many makers: how to sustain creative practices, launch works and resume lives as artists? While building up creative energy, lots of emerging creators participate in “residency programs” initiated by art villages and institutions worldwide, at which they obtain work and exhibition resources, mingle with international artists while triggering inspirations through living in foreign lands.
In this talk, we invite artists in resident Sheng-Wen Lo and Pei-Hsuan Wang from the Rijksakademie in Amsterdam. Sheng-Wen is a current resident of the two-year program; Pei-Hsuan completed a joint program (ACC-Rijksakademie) in Gwangju, South Korea and Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
Arriving at the same institution while under different programs, Sheng-Wen and Pei-Hsuan will respectively talk about their residency experiences, application tips, latest projects from the residency, and how this institution supported and influenced their lives and works.
At the evening of 12th July, Sheng-Wen and Pei-Hsuan will review and share the stimuli and transformations evoked by the residencies. We cordially invite everyone who are curious about artists’ lives, who are prospective residents, or who have loaded residency experiences to join this insightful event!
